AboutThe Metal Fighter is produced by South-Korean based company Mini-Robot which is the same company that developed the popular Robonova robot which was distributed globally by Hitec. The Metal Fighter is the second generation robot of humanoid robots developed by MiniRobot and as such includes newer more advance technology such as the MRC-3024FX microcontroller (which can control up to 24 servos). And based on their experience in designing robots, MiniRobot have designed the Metal Fighter to be easier to assemble and requiring less parts (should only take 1-2 hours to assemble with a screwdriver). In addition, it's light-weight rugged design means it will be more resiliant to falls and knocks. Programmable with RoboBasic, a language field tested using the Robonova platform, the Metal Fighter ensures it is a versatile platform to learn about robotics and includes the ability to be expanded with such options as Zigbee wireless controllers, voice recognition modules, LCD displays and various senors (gyro, acceleration, ultrasonic). RoboBasic is a programming language allowing advanced user more control over their robot which contains specific commands for robot operation. Used in conjuction with RoboScript and RoboRemcon the user has the ability to greatly refine their control over the robot. Package Includes:

Features
MRS-D2009SP servosThe Metal fighter features sixteen MRS-D2009SP digital servos which feature set pin locking systems for easy assembly, over-voltage protection and super strong Karbonite gears. HMI (High mult-protocol interface) technology is also featured. It introduces a new interface for robot users who want to control their robot servos more efficiently through MiniRobot's accumulated technical know-how in digital servo technology. HMI will be advanced constantly by firmware upgrades in the future (note: optional kit required to utilise this function).
High capacity batteryThe NiMH rechargable battery is 1000mAh which delivers approximate one hour of operating time. Other battery options can include a 7.4V 2 cell Lithium Polymer battery which is used in conjuction with a 6 volt regulator. The included charger features a protection circut to help prevent battery charging issues. Range of coloursThe custom red, silver, blue and black anodized metal servo brackets serve as a strong and lightweight exoskeleton and features a durable plastic body case that protects the control board and battery from damage. RoboBasicRoboBasic is a programming tool based on the BASIC programming language and is provided for the more advanced users. Containing specific commands for simple robot operation, RoboBasic can also be used in conjuction with RoboScript to increase the performance of the supplied microprocessor controller board. RoboScriptBeginners to robot programming technology will be pleased to use the supplied RoboScript programming software. Without knowing any programming language at all, users can create operational subroutines with the click of a mouse. Use the RoboRemocon software to control your Metal Fighter with the operational data created with Roboscript. Capture and PlayThe simplest way to program the Metal Fighter is with the capture and play function. Using RoboScript or RoboBasic, just move the robot into any position and click the mouse to "capture" that position. Move the robot into another position and repeat the process. The software then links these "captured" positions and once activated, smoothly transitions the robots movements through these programmed positions. AccessoriesThe Metal Fighter can be retrofitted with several accessory modules and ancillary items to customise its functionality. By adding additional servos and brackets the head and waist can turn and gripping hands can be used. Gyros, acceleration sensors, speech functions and R/C control accessories can also be added. MR-C3024 FXThe MRC-3024FX microcontroller is the heart of the Metal Fighter. Secured to the back of the robot under a strong plastic case, the control board can operate up to 24 servos and 16 accessory modules. Optional devices will eventually include gyros, acceleration sensors, speech synthesis modules and operational devices such as Zigbee controllers and R/C transmitters and receivers. This flexible and sophisticated interface allows the user to customise the Metal Fighter into the robot of their dreams. IR ControllerControl the Metal Fighter remotely with the IR Remocon kit. Just point and click a button to launch a pre-programmed subroutine. The Remocon supports up to 4 different Metal Fighter robots using 4 separate ID protocols.
